Our condo is directly on the widest beach in all of Mazatlan and features two inviting pools, an onsite restaurant -The Palapa- serving up amazing food al fresco and a totally accommodating staff, The best masseuse anywhere--you can get an hour long massage in a private cabana and listen to the waves while being indulged in ultimate serenity--all for $30 and amazing sunsets each night that rivals Key West. You can walk to a myriad of other dining options, including Mr. Lionses Playa Bruja restaurant, where it is "happy hour every hour" featuring 2 for 1 drinks and amazing grilled seafood. You can spend your day laying under a private tiki hut on the beach that is groomed each morning and then take in the incredible night life that Mazatlan is famous just a short cab ride (about $5USD each way) to the Golden Zone where you'll find the original Senor Frogs and other hot spots. We love walking along the ocean with the moon and stars lighting our way but the choice is yours. Mazatlan also offers great adventures including our favorite, Zip Lining through the Jungle, sunset horseback riding on the beach and boat trips to whale watch (in season) from the nearby marina. The on-site property manager is there to make your stay wonderful The condo is located in Cerritos, also referred to as "New Mazatlan" due to all the nice new development in the area. You are located on the nicest, longest stretch of beach in Mazatlan, if not the entire west coast of Mexico. The area is predominantly condos and one all inclusive mega hotel, but they are spread out enough that at times you will have the beach to yourself. You can walk 1.2 miles to the north until you hit Play Bruja where you cannot walk any further. Walking south, you can go about 4 miles until you hit the marina -all that walking is good to work off the margaritas. There is parasailing and jet ski rentals by the Riu - about 3 minute walk. There is a great Mexican seafood restaurant walking distance as well as a coffee shop and tourist shops to the north (face ocean and walk right) The same area has several additional restaurants and a pizza/bar hangout with pool tables. All the way at Bruja, there are real Mexican restaurants where they will shuck your oysters right in front of you if you are more adventurous. The complex is on the busline and there are plenty of taxis. The Marina area is about 7 minutes by car, Golden Zone (the main Gringo tourist area) is about 10-12 minutes and Centro is about 20-25 depending on traffic. Don't be afraid to take the bus, the front desk will give you a map with the routes - it is very efficient and dirt cheap. It's best to take the bus into town and cab it back - don't be afraid to bargain with the cab drivers - everything is negotiable in Mexico (except from the airport - those fares are set by the city) If you drive or rent a car, there is plenty of parking in the complex and it is gated with 24/7 security although Mazatlan is very safe The on-site restaurant is HOA owned and is very inexpensive - it cannot make a profit - that is the good news- you can eat, drink and be merry for very little money. You will be required to leave a deposit in cash of equal to $100 US (Pesos are better for exchange rate) in order to charge food/drinks to your room. You will pay balance at check-out.
